Ok, I'm late, I know. Its the end of week 2!!!! I'm so happy. So, last week on Friday a little sweetie named briana w. threw a chair in my classroom. And apparently this is a tradition with her, because she threw one last year too. This week was better than last week, however. Writer's workshop actually feels good to me, although I am still not sure how to increase their writing or encourage reluctant writers (and storyboarders). I am really working on my afternoons with the children. I have a really active bunch (some of them literally can't sit still for too long), so I have found that whenever I have some sort of manipulative or tool for them to use in math, math goes really well. Now, how in the world am I going to incorporate a tool in every math lesson?
So anyways, I'm not going to write much. My days' have their ups and their downs. I have started a list for myself on my chalk board so that I can write down whenever things went well. This way, I can look up at he board when things aren't going so well and say "well, at least they walked quietly in the hallway before going to tech" (its the little things I have to hold on to)
Ok...I love you (utep...I'm not sure if other people can read this. Yeah, they probably can)

And UTEP loves you right back Ashley. Writing down your successes is a great thing to do - and I like the fact that it's public. I hope you've been able to get your students involved in those conversations so they can reflect on what's working well in the room.
